Dr. Melissa Plamann

is the Wanda L. Bass Chair of Organ and Assistant Professor of Music at Oklahoma City University’s Bass School of Music; she also serves as organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church in OKC. Plamann holds organ performance degrees from Valparaiso University and Emory University, and she was awarded her DMA from Indiana University Bloomington.

Plamann maintains an active performing schedule, and she particularly enjoys programming 20th- and 21st-century works and collaborative pieces featuring other instruments with the organ. She is the education chairperson for the OKC AGO, and she is an executive board member of the Oklahoma Alliance for Liturgy and the Arts, a non-profit organization that fosters liturgical art and encourages creative collaboration between artists, religious groups, and the larger community. Plamann is a strong advocate of integrating global music in congregational worship, and she has published a series of online articles for Augsburg Fortress on the topic.

Flight of the Bumblebee
I give this technically tricky tune a whimsical interpretation. Enjoy!

From George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. I hope you enjoy it.

Afro Blue
Think I don't do jazz? I do! I've given this Coltrane classic my own touch.
